HOW IT WORKS

Exact product in. Ownership context out.

1. Identify

Owntil starts with official product records and exact identifiers such as EPREL IDs and, where available, GTIN/EAN. We do not silently infer an exact product from a similar name.

2. Establish the support floor

Software-support commitments, repairability, battery durability and parts rules are retained as separate facts. For products still on the market, a commitment such as “five years after end of placement on market” is shown as a minimum rule rather than a made-up calendar date.

3. Match local offers

Our planned commerce layer matches retailer offers by exact GTIN and country. Prices, availability and outbound merchant links remain commercial data, separate from regulatory facts.

4. Calculate useful comparisons

When both price and an exact positive remaining support period are known, Owntil can calculate cost per remaining supported year. If either input is unknown, the metric stays unknown.
